About

It is difficult to find orthodox biblical information on the topic of spiritual warfare, exorcism, and demonology. The vast majority of available information in popular media and on the internet is in error at best, and potentially dangerous at worst. Seeing this sad state of affairs, Fr. J. Davila Ashcraft, Anglican priest, exorcist and Theologian, has established the Fraternity of Christ the King as an ecumenical society of orthodox Christian clergy united in the ministry of spiritual warfare and exorcism. The mission of the Fraternity of Christ the King is to impress upon both the church and unbelievers alike the reality of the spiritual realm and how it interacts with us daily. To that end the Fraternity trains clergy in the theology and methodology of spiritual combat. The Fraternity of Christ the King also acts as a resource to the Church universal when the need for legitimate exorcism ministry arises, or when there are significant concerns regarding potential occult activity and how best to respond. Members of the Fraternity are all ordained clergy in orthodox ecclesial bodies.

NOTE: NO MEMBER OF THE FRATERNITY WILL HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THEM PUBLISHED FOR PUBLIC CONSUMPTION.

Requirements for clergy membership include:

1. At least a B.A. from an accredited institution. Degrees should be in the fields of Biblical Studies, Theology, Apologetics, Pastoral Counseling, Ministry, etc.
2. Have the approval of your church board who will agree to act as your accountability partners.
3. A letter of recommendation from two clergymen who know your character, moral uprightness, maturity, and comprehension of the Faith.
4. Attend all training offered by the Fraternity of Christ the King designed specifically for clergy who discern a calling to spiritual warfare ministry.
5. A commitment to maintain the methodology of the Fraternity of Christ the King in the investigation and response to all claims.
6. Complete a criminal background check.
7. Agree to be held accountable to the elders of the Fraternity.

Fraternity members are held to high standards of morality and ethics and are expected to pursue biblical holiness in all areas of life. When the minister is holy, he is best able to respond to the needs of those who seek Christ through him. When the minister is unholy or mediocre, those who come to him for aid and instruction will suffer. This means all members of the Fraternity of Christ the King are accountable to elders, both in the Fraternity and in their respective congregations. Members are required to engage in daily devotional time, which includes personal prayer, study of Sacred Scripture, daily prayer of the Psalms or Breviary.

The Fraternity of Christ the King does not have a specific denominational bias but admits all orthodox Christian clergy. This permits the Fraternity to respond to the specific spiritual preferences of those who seek our assistance by referring them to a member of that denomination. The Fraternity is organized hierarchically, with the Superior General governing the affairs of the Fraternity assisted by two other clergymen. Lay members are welcome if they meet specific requirements. The Fraternity also welcomes medical and mental health professionals who are Christians and wish to be of support to our clergy members in the investigation process of all claims. These professionals will assess a claimants physical and psychological health, looking for potential issues that could present symptoms consistent with the pop-cultural perceptions of demonic activity. Medical and mental health professionals must meet the same requirements for membership as lay members. These requirements include:

1. At least a B.A. from an accredited institution
2. A regular, active, tithing member of a local congregation. We expect at least 2 years at one specific congregation.
3. A letter of recommendation from the pastor of your congregation who attests to your character, moral uprightness, maturity, comprehension of the Faith and who agrees to act as your accountability partner.
4. Attend all training offered by the Fraternity of Christ the King designed specifically for laity who wish to be part of an investigative team or prayer support team for a member clergyman.
5. Complete a criminal background check.
6. Agree to be accountable to the clergyman you will work for and the elders of the Fraternity.

Spiritual warfare goes beyond the study of exorcism and demonology. A second area of concern is the defense of the Faith. To that end, the Fraternity of Christ the King engages in significant apologetic work both within the Church and society at large. Within the Church our mission is to properly catechize Christians, both new and long standing. This means we teach Christians what we believe, why we believe it, and how to defend those beliefs against skeptics, occultists, and atheists.
